Measuring Casement Windows

Casement windows, crank out windows, push out windows, there all a form of the old casement type windows sold in the fifties and sixties, they swing out in one form or another, you measure casement windows for screens from the inside of the house, the whole idea again is to keep out those bad old bug's,  sorry bug's but you got to stay outside and leave us humans alone

The thickness is usually 3/8 , but 7/16 is just as good,

The width: you measure from the inside of the hardware " the little angle clips " that turn and hold the screen, or if you have no existing hardware then you measure inside the holes, sometimes the holes have been painted over so you have to look for indentations of painted holes

The height you measure from the top of the crank on the bottom , up to where it covers the opening on the top flange and the bug's don't get in

Here is some hardware used to mount casement window screens
